"You'll never feel like it"

Some days have really passed since my last blog. I was waiting for the "I now feel like writing feeling", obviously it was not forthcoming. The truth is the difficult things are the most valuable but we don't like doing them. It may be waking up without hitting the snooze alarm, going to the gym or even reading a book. The mind is designed to protect us thus when doing a difficult thing it magnifies the problem thus the many excuses we tell ourselves. Many achievers have told us that in order to succeed we must control our mind ,I am fascinated by Eliud Kipchoge(one of the greatest marathon runners) who always says that "if you don't rule your mind it will rule you". So we must learn to control our mind.  When the mind tries to trick you ,there are metacognition techniques(metacognition is the ability to control your mind)that you can use. I strongly advocate for the '5 second rule' by Mel Robbins .It basically states they if you don't feel like maybe working out you should count backwards from 5 to 1.This wakens the pre-frontal cortex (part of mind that initiates actions)which helps you do the action. The truth is that you will only feel motivated to do easy things but in order to be successful you have to do the hard things. So every time 'you don't feel like it' count backwards from 5,4,3,2,1 and just do it .It worked for me,this morning I just 5,4,3,2,1 and began writing this blog.
